Only Use the Best of Natural Acne Spot Treatments!

by Gerald Steinert

People with oily skin usually suffer from acne. The reason for this is that oily skin produces more sebum than other skin types which makes it naturally more prone to clogged pores and acne lesions.

What you can do in this instance is have a disciplined skin care routine that you stick with on a daily basis. Sometimes, when treating mild to moderate cases of acne (these include facial and back acne), a regular cleansing routine can be more effective than over the counter acne creams, however, if you're trying to treat more severe cases of acne, then you will need to have medical supervision.

How to Cleanse Oily Skin

If you have oily skin, then you should avoid using soaps and use a soapy cleanser, instead. Soaps are not recommended because they tend to dry out your skin. As a matter of fact, if you use a soap and your skin becomes dry, it will break or crack and let in acne bacteria.

A soapy, gel cleanser is perfect for your acne skin, especially if that product contains salicylic acid or retinol. What these ingredients in effect serve to accomplish is the balancing out of the rate of the shedding of skin cells. It also helps to keep debris from clogging up the pores.

Despite most people thinking otherwise, you can try a natural acne remedy if you have oily skin. Discover when you have the opportunity what the milk of magnesia does to your oily complexion. Rub it into your skin and the rinse it off with warm water.

Toning and Exfoliating

An effective daily cleansing routine will also require the use of a toner, however, if the cleanser you are using is good enough to clean your skin then it won't be necessary to tone your skin. If at any point you decide that using a toner is necessary, make sure that it is alcohol free.

Unlike toning, this is one step you shouldn't skip. Depending on how old you are and the condition your skin is in, you should exfoliate at least once a week. To exfoliate all you need to do is use a scrub or a product that contains salicylic acid.

A scrub is any mechanical exfoliant that you can find, while salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliant. Both types of products are a good option, but which you choose will depend on your preferences. Moisturize! Even if You Have Oily Skin

Just by having oily skin should not make you forget about the importance of a moisturizer. The problem with oily skin is that it has too much oil, but not that it has too much moisture. With this in mind, choose a moisturizer that is oil free and apply it twice a day.
